Dr Jung-Yoon Huh

MBBS (USyd), FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health, B.Pharm

Dr Jung-Yoon Huh embarked on her career as a pharmacist after graduating from the University of Otago in New Zealand.  Whilst she enjoyed the role of ensuring the safe use of medications and patient education, she realised her passion for more holistic, patient-centred care in the community.  Dr Huh returned to study medicine at the University of Sydney while raising a young family in 2007.  During this period, she experienced first-hand the importance of women’s role in supporting their families and community.  As a mother,  she was naturally drawn to paediatrics.  

After internship and residency at Westmead hospital, she undertook further training to complete a Diploma in Women’s health (DRANZCOG) and Children’s health (DCH).   She obtained invaluable clinical experiences at various hospitals across NSW but was ultimately attracted to primary care.  Dr Huh feels privileged to provide quality health care to patients and their families by incorporating digital health and technology in her practice.

She provides a wide range of services in women’s health; shared antenatal care with Royal North Shore and Hornsby Hospital, insertion and removal of Implanon and intrauterine devices, cervical screening test, STI check and menopause.  She is also accredited for prescribing restricted medications to treat chronic hepatitis B. 

Dr Huh is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.  She regularly volunteers in community work, especially for culturally and linguistically diverse groups.  She is fluent in Korean (한국어) and English.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading books with a cup of coffee, attending webinars (thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic) and driving her children to extra-curricular activities.

Dr Ying Yu

BSc (Med), MBBS (UNSW), FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health

Dr Ying Yu is a fellow of Royal College of General practitioners, and graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed her internship and residency at Westmead Hospital where she gained experience in Emergency, General Medicine, Psychiatry and Surgery. Ying has since worked at Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she completed Diploma of Child Health, various practices including Laurieton, Springwood and Carlingford.

Ying also values the teaching future GPs and has been an examiner for the Royal College of General Practitioners and took part as a GP registrar supervisor for GP Synergy, the teaching body for GPs for Australia.

Ying thoroughly enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly the opportunity to being able to provide continuity of care for her patients and their families. Ying has special interests in women’s health, children’s health, and mental health and is fluent in Mandarin.

Dr Kawisha Arander

BMed, MD (UNSW), FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health, Master of Public Health

Dr Kawisha Arander is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Kawisha completed her Medical Degree at UNSW in 2016 with distinction and completed her Internship and Residency at Nepean Hospital. She is passionate about preventative health care and strives to provide quality, holistic care to her patients and their families. Dr. Kawisha Arander has also completed a Master of Public Health specialising in Primary Care with Distinction at UNSW.  She has a special interest in Paediatrics and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program. She also provides shared antenatal care to pregnant women booked at Hornsby and Royal North Shore Hospital.

Outside of work, Kawisha enjoys exploring the great outdoors and discovering hidden hiking trails around Sydney. She loves to immerse herself in diverse cultural experiences around the world through dance, good food and travel.

Dr Kawisha’s consulting days are Mondays, and Saturdays fortnightly.

Dr Jeffrey Chow

BMed BDent MRACDS(PDS) FRACGP

Dr Jeffrey Chow is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He graduated in Dentistry and Medicine from the Universities of Sydney and Newcastle, respectively. He undertook his medical training in Concord, Westmead, Gosford, and John Hunter Hospitals, working in different specialties, including Emergency Departments in regional NSW, before training as a GP. He loves being in General Practice/Family Medicine, as it is a broad scope and holistic specialty that allows him to build long term relationships with his patients, and to utilise his experiences gained in other specialities in the community.

Dr Chow has interest in all aspects of Medicine, but he has a particular interest in skin cancer management. His skin cancer experiences include working as a resident in the Departments of Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery at Concord Hospital, as a registrar in Anatomical Pathology, and in completing Advanced Certificates in Skin Cancer and General Dermatology from the Australasian College of Dermatologists. His other interests in Medicine include geriatric, men’s health, and minor surgical procedures. Because of his dental background, he also has a special interest in oral health and related conditions.

Dr Chow is committed in providing evidence-based and individualised care for his patients. He attends continue professional education regularly to ensure his management aligns with current best practice. He is compassionate and understanding. He strongly values good communication with his patients, with the goal to help them achieving the best health outcomes possible.

Dr Chow is originally from Hong Kong and grew up in Sydney, Australia. He is fluent in English and Cantonese, and his Mandarin is improving daily. Outside of work, he is an avid football (the round one) fan, a dog lover, and he enjoys cooking and travelling.

Dr Zhao Huang

MBBS, FRACGP, DCH

Dr Zhao Huang completed his medical training in 2006 and has since worked across a wide range of medical specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, and General Surgery. His postgraduate training at Westmead and Sutherland Hospitals laid a solid clinical foundation for his transition into general practice training, which he completed at two respected clinics on the North Coast of NSW.

Dr Huang is well-versed in all aspects of elderly health care and geriatrics, such as chronic disease management, falls prevention and medication management. Through his dedicated nursing home visits across Sydney, he has gained in-depth knowledge and practical insight into geriatric care.

As a young father, Dr Huang brings a warm, empathetic approach to paediatric care. He completed a Diploma in Child Health at the University of Sydney in 2017 and has extensive experience in both family and paediatric medicine.

Furthermore, Dr Huang is qualified to perform skin cancer checks, carry out minor skin procedures, and manage a wide range of skin conditions.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Dr Huang is dedicated to providing inclusive, high-quality care to individuals and families from all backgrounds.

Outside of work, Dr Huang enjoys travelling, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones.

Dr Katherine Cheung

MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, DCH

Dr Katherine Cheung is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who completed her medical degree in Australia with Honours. She developed a strong foundation in medicine through her work across a broad range of specialties at Westmead Hospital—one of Sydney’s largest and busiest hospitals—before choosing to specialise in General Practice.

A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr Cheung has also contributed to the next generation of GPs by supervising and mentoring doctors in training, supporting them through their exams and professional development.

Dr Cheung enjoys the variety that General Practice offers and provides comprehensive care across all aspects of family medicine. She is fluent in Cantonese and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to diverse communities.

Dr Chung-Yao Yu

BSc Med, MBBS FRACP Consultant Physician & Cardiologist

The Madison Medical Practice Northbridge is delighted to welcome Cardiologist Dr Chung-Yao Yu.

Dr Yu is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Sydney North Cardiology group and the Mater Hospital. He is passionate about patient care and has been conducting a Cardiac Clinic at the Madison Medical Practice Hornsby for the past 5 years. He has completed his fellowship in Cardiac Imaging in St Vincent’s hospital and holds a PhD in Cardiac Imaging.

Dr Yu’s special interests include cardiac imaging, general cardiology and heart failure. He is also able to conduct complex diagnostic procedures and is an accredited Level B CT coronary angiography specialist. He currently reports cardiac CT for many radiology providers around Australia. Dr Yu is also fluent in Mandarin.

Gauri Donald

Dietitian

Gauri is an Accredited Practising Dietitian specializing in digestive health and diabetes management. She grew up in the country side on fresh vegetarian food and loved growing vegetables from a young age. Gauri has a special interest in South Asian Diets and Vegetarian diets but believes that healthy eating is possible in every culture and cuisine.  She is passionate about cooking from fresh ingredients and trialling various cuisines. She is a mother of a toddler and understands the challenges of cooking for a family with varying nutritional needs and tastes.

Gauri has been working as a dietitian for 10 years and in private practice 6 years. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team who are committed to holistic and preventative health. Gauri’s favourite thing about being a private dietitian is getting to know and help her patients from diverse backgrounds to love food and enjoy good health. Gauri has had experience in a major public hospitals and various nursing homes. Isabella Ooi

Podiatrist

Isabella is a Registered Podiatrist with the Australian Podiatry Association having graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatric Medicine. She has experience within Australia in both public and private sectors, has complete training with podiatric surgeons and overseas in Galway, Ireland.

Having grown up on the North Shore, she is passionate about servicing her community and playing an active role in improving the quality of life of others. Her specialty is interacting with ‘at risk’ populations such as elderly and diabetic patients. Isabella is particularly interested in diabetic foot care, fungal nails, treating ingrown nails and nail surgery. She has a holistic treatment approach incorporating evidence-based practice; extending to life style modifications and orthotic therapy.

Her easy going, compassionate and sincere nature is what helps patients warm to her so quickly. She loves a good chat and challenge, and she strives to have every patient walk out with a smile.

Leesa Garrety – Registered Psychologist

Registered Psychologist - BSc (Psychology); Master of Arts; DipEd (Primary)

Leesa is a Registered Psychologist, who trained at the University of New South Wales and Sydney University. She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with acute and chronic clinical Mental Health presentations, such as schizophrenia and bipolar, as well as with gambling addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting concerns and has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults as well as older persons. Her special interests are parenting interventions, attachment theory depression, anxiety, gambling and post natal depression and psycho-education.

Leesa is a Psychology Supervisor and mentors and teaches Psychology Interns. She works collaboratively, using a variety of therapy styles including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focussed therapy, Motivational Interviewing and strengths based therapy. Leesa’s approach to treatment is that is should be a collaboration, with the aim to assist the client to identify and build on their strengths to help them to live the fulfilling and value filled life they deserve.

She is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and Medicare and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).

Amy Zheng

Diabetes Educator

Amy Zheng is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator passionate about empowering adults living with prediabetes, type 1, and type 2 diabetes. She provides personalised, practical strategies to support confident self-management and improve everyday health and wellbeing.

Amy offers expert guidance for individuals using insulin therapy, including those considering or currently using insulin pump therapy. She is highly skilled in the use of diabetes technology—such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems and smart insulin pens—and can help integrate these tools into your daily routine for more effective and streamlined diabetes management.

Since 2007, Amy has worked in chronic disease management, bringing extensive clinical experience and a strong focus on diabetes care. In addition to her clinical role, she coordinates and teaches in the Postgraduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), supporting the development of future diabetes educators.

Amy is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Linda Severino RN

Registered Nurse / Child and Family Health Nurse / Nurse Immuniser

Linda Severino is an experienced registered, child & family health nurse, nurse immuniser & the director of the Madison Medical Practices. Linda graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing at The University of Western Sydney in 1992. To complement her skills, she later completed another Degree in health majoring in management, health promotion and education. Linda has extensive clinical & managerial experience within the hospital & community health settings, by leading both clinical and non-clinical personnel, and has been a Mentor to many students over the past 30 years. Linda is a qualified child and family health nurse & nurse immuniser. Linda has extensive experience with babies & prides herself on assisting and educating mothers with their newborns. Linda’s care and devotion to her patients has seen her become a popular Health Care Professional.

Linda is currently the operations manager of the practices and also nurses when relieving staff.

Chaska Salazar RN

Registered Nurse

The Madison Medical Practice is pleased to welcome our newest registered nurse, Chaska. Chaska completed her Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Australian Catholic University; she then underwent her New Graduate role at North Shore Private before moving to Royal North Shore Hospital, where she gained experience in a fast-paced surgical ward. Chaska found her passion in Primary Health Care and loves the aspect of building ongoing patient relationships and patient-focused care. She is currently undertaking her Nurse Immuniser course and aims to soon become a Child and Family Health Nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys competing in water polo and CrossFit.

Alex Fletcher EN

Enrolled Nurse

Alex is an Enrolled Nurse, having completed her Diploma of Nursing in 2022. She enjoys working in general practice particularly, as it gives her the opportunity to be involved with the ongoing care of patients. When Alex isn’t at work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
