Did you know that around 1 in 4 pregnancies in Australia are unplanned? More than half of these occur because no contraception was being used. Unplanned pregnancies are also more common with methods such as the oral contraceptive pill or condoms, often due to everyday issues like missed pills or condom breakage.

This is why long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) is one of the most effective ways to prevent pregnancy. LARC does not rely on daily action or correct use each time, making it far more reliable than short-acting methods. While no contraceptive method is 100% effective, LARC comes very close, with a success rate of over 99%.

From 31st January 2026, Dr Jung Yoon Huh will be offering long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) procedures on alternate Saturdays. Services include insertion, removal and replacement of both contraceptive implants (Implanon) and intrauterine devices (IUDs).

Implant procedures are bulk billed and IUD procedures are privately billed, with Medicare rebates available.
